How to: Customize the program used to play audio CD-ROMs.
Solution:
In Windows Explorer, select the 'View' menu and select 'Options'. Select 'Audio CD' and click 'Edit...'. Associate the appropriate application and click 'OK'.
1) Open Windows Explorer:
a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Programs' and select 'Windows Explorer'. (The 'Exploring - (C:)' window appears.)
2) Select the 'View' menu and select 'Options...'. (The 'Options' dialog box appears.)
3) Click the 'File Types' tab. (The 'File Types' tabbed page appears.)
4) In the 'Registered file types' list box, select 'AudioCD'.
5) Click 'Edit...'. (The 'Edit File Type' dialog box appears.)

6) Do one of the following:
a) If 'Play' is not visible in the 'Actions' box:
1] Click 'New'. (The 'New Action' dialog box appears.)
2] Type PLAY in the 'Action' box.
3] Type the following in the 'Application used to perform action' box:
<drive>:\WINDOWS\CDPLAYER.EXE
(where <drive> is the letter of the local hard disk).
4] Click 'OK' to close the 'New Action' dialog box. ('Play' appears in the 'Actions' box.)
b) If 'Play' is visible in the 'Actions' dialog box:
1] In the 'Actions' box, select 'Play'.
NOTE: If the 'Play' option is not bold, select it and click 'Set Default'.
2] Click 'Edit...'. (The 'Editing for action type: AudioCD' dialog box appears.)

3] Do one of the following to associate a new application:
a] In the 'Application used to perform action' box, type the path of the program to play audio CD-ROMs.

b] Browse for the application:
1} Click 'Browse...'. (The 'Open With' dialog box appears.)
2} Select the drive to browse from the 'Look in' drop-down list.
3} Select the desired folder and click 'Open'.
4} Select the application and click 'Open'.
7) Click 'Close' to close the 'Edit File Type' dialog box.
8) Click 'Close' to close the 'Options' dialog box.
9) To exit Windows Explorer, select the 'File' menu and select 'Close'.
